Intuicom Selected by the University of Colorado to Provide Automatic Vehicle Location System for University Bus Fleet Intuicom Continues to Expand its Presence in the AVL Market Boulder, CO, January 28, 2002- Intuicom, Inc.™ a leader in providing wireless data networks optimized for real-time Global Positioning (GPS) announced that it has been selected to provide an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) System to manage the buses for University of Colorado at Boulder (CU). The Intuicom system allows CU's Transportation Services to monitor and manage its buses from a central site, providing even better scheduling and service to its riders and increased route efficiency. The award was the result of a solicitation to provide a Global Positioning System (GPS) based AVL solution for the University's bus fleet. The Intuicom solution- installed on CU's thirteen buses- includes the in-vehicle Intuicom SmartGPS Tracker™ GPS-enhanced radio transceivers and Intuicom's Wireless Gateway Management Software (WiGate™) for management and control of the wireless network. Unlike AVL systems that use cellular data communications, Intuicom's "always on" private wireless network enables real time bi-directional data flow, is never held up by cellular problems such as weak signal, dropped calls and capacity limitations, provides higher bandwidth and requires no activation or ongoing monthly fees. "Intuicom's AVL solution meets our needs today and allows us to expand in a cost-effective manner. Their solution oriented approach to AVL was exactly what we have been looking for," said Bryan Flansburg, Director of Transportation Services. "As a growing transportation organization, we are excited by the efficiency gains the technology enables. We are also pleased to have control over the communication infrastructure." "We are very pleased to have been awarded this contract with CU. It is another demonstration of benefits associated with our AVL solutions," said Steve Fisher, CEO of Intuicom. "Intelligent Transportation Systems applications such as AVL represent a major growth opportunity for Intuicom and advance our vision of becoming the preferred technology for a broad range of remote management and monitoring applications."
